Coronavirus FAQs

The well-being of University of Northwestern students, faculty, and staff is of utmost importance. In light of this, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 developments and information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to respond in the best interest of our community.

Following is a summary of decisions that have been made for the UNW community for the near future. Additional FAQs and links to important resources are below.

  • On-campus classes have moved to a virtual learning environment through the end of the summer 2020 term.
  • Current online classes continue to be provided online as scheduled.
  • Due to the impact and uncertainties of the COVID-19 situation, the decision was made to postpone Spring 2020 Commencement ceremonies, originally scheduled for May 16. Those ceremonies were then scheduled to occur on August 15. Due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremonies have been rescheduled for December. Details will be communicated in the coming weeks.
  • All on-campus co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are suspended through the end of the summer 2020 term

Please continue to watch for updates from the president and on this website.
