Multicultural Services

Multicultural Student Services supports students who have grown up outside the majority culture and students of color by providing access to important resources, helping with cultural adjustment, advocating for unique needs. Each student is connected with an upper-class student mentor who becomes a friendly, reliable and trustworthy source of information and support.

We strive to promote Christian unity in our university community, particularly with respect to issues of racial, cultural and ethnic diversity, and biblical reconciliation.

We are fulfilling our mission through engagement, education and service.

International Student Services assists international students in their adjustment to university in the U.S. by providing spiritual, social, and academic support to help them integrate into all aspects of university life. We also assist students in applying their learning to their own lives, vocation, and cultural contexts, as well as sharing their cultures with the community. Each international student is connected with an upper-class student mentor who becomes a friendly, reliable and trustworthy source of information and support. In addition, international students are connected with a host family from the University of Northwestern community through our International Family Friendship program. These host families extend hospitality by helping international students learn and adjust to a new culture, providing a place to stay during breaks, and serving as a “home-away-from-home.”.
